A bit late for a February blog, innit? I mean…a blog post…for the month of February…less than two days before February ends…a bit of a “bombastic side eye” moment, wouldn’t you agree? Well! It’s an opportunity for us to reflect on the month, but also for a little sneak peek of what’s to come in the next. Just like we’re in between Winter and Spring, call this the blog version of it – a little springter post, if you will.

February Recap
February is known as the season of love – heart-shaped decorations, shades of red and pink along Bloor West, beautifully curated bouquets, you name it – and Bloor West Village sure was beaming with it. Here, in the village, we celebrated love for Valentine’s Day (or Galentine’s Day for friends), with shops offering multiple gift ideas and restaurants offering special deals and activities for couples. We celebrated love for Family Day, with businesses offering deals and family-focused activities such as GATTO Wood Oven Pizza‘s pizza making workshop. We also celebrated love on the occasion of Lunar New Year, with families engaging in their cultural traditions such as offering Angpao, the traditional Red Envelope, and special Asian dishes such as the Lucky Rice Cake soup.
The community further celebrated its love by welcoming two new businesses! Bloor West Village came together and extended the warmth it is so well known for to:

Bloor West Village BIA has partnered with Friends of the High Park Zoo to give away ONE FREE FAMILY PASS each week until March 22nd, 2024.
Part outdoor scavenger hunt, part amazing race, the Bonnie & Clyde High Park Escapade (B&CHPE) is a customized game for parents, and kids (ages 8 through 16, as well as all adults) to explore High Park and High Park Zoo, via a mobile app. Learn more on the ClueSolvers website!
The purpose of the game is to add a layer of engagement and interactivity to the Park and Zoo experience, while offering an opportunity to educate visitors about the Zoo’s residents. More broadly, the game is about High Park, its historical land use and importance to biodiversity and conservation.

The “Easter Bunny in the Village” is back!!
On Saturday, March 30th, from 10AM to 3PM, join us for a FREE fun family day in Bloor West Village, at the heart located at Bloor St W & Willard Ave (north east corner of Bloor St W.)!
Here’s an idea: Put on your soft fuzzy onesie, snag some cute bunny ears, meet the Easter Bunny and snap a nice photo for the books. Then, get creative with an engaging crafts activity for the kids, followed by a thrilling scavenger hunt for chocolate eggs* from participating businesses along Bloor St West. Psst! Bring your Easter basket! 😉
